What type of camera would best suit me?

Im looking to get a nice (not overly expensive) digital camera. I want to ba able to take close up pictures of ants on a leaf but I also want something that can take a picture of a mountain or skyline and capture the essence. Also I would like it to be pretty durable as I know some models can take a bang or two and some crumble like paper mache. Im trying to stay under 200 but over or under a bit, whatever. let me know what you think. peace and thanks.
