I'm doing a presentation on Surrealists art, and the artists Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte?

You'll have to start with Dada - and show how it morphed into surrealism. Charlie Chaplin was interested in this style of art as was Buster Keaton. Surrealism combines a studied technique with paint and brush with the psychology of dreams. The horrors of WWI (poison gas attacks, aerial bombing, trench warfare) seemed to drive painters away from realism and into the landscape of the mind and dreams. Iconic images like Magritte's faceless men in bowler hats that appear in more than one painting or work. Surrealism had poets, writers, painters, sculptors, and filmmakers - and so should your presentation.
