the most important advice for the mile is to start out in the middle of the pack, and the most crucial part of the race is the 3rd lap, this is when most runners begin to get fatigued, if you run your third lap as hard as your first, you will p quiet a few people. and your last lap will not be a problem because you can always have the moral boost of it being the last lap, running is as much psychological as it is physical.
