Should I become a lecturer?

Okay, so I intended to become a lawyer, after doing a law degree in the UK and then moving to the US. However, I'm a bit distressed to find I will have no job prospects. So, as Law is pretty much the only thing I can do now, should I turn to becoming a lecturer or professor? What are my options? Please help!!
