Question about a formerly owned vehicle?

I used to have a car, and as embarred as I am to say it, I never registered it, and I fell behind on the payments and it was repossessed, I am going to be buying a newer vehical soon, and yes I plan on registering that one, but my question is, will I have to pay the sales tax on the vehicle that was never registered, and then repoed? I live in missouri
