Desiree's Baby?

I read "Desiree's Baby" and I think it was a great story. I have decided to write a paper on it. However, I am stuck. [Only if you have read the story....] What is something from the story that I could try to PROVE. THE PAPER HAS TO PROVE SOMETHING. I can do that but I just cant pinpoint what I want to prove....any ideas?
